JACK LONDON STATE HISTORICAL PARK
Round-trip mileage: 8 miles
Difficulty: 2 ( 1=Easy,2=Moderate,3=Strenuous )
Description:
Share some history with Jack London by visiting the house he almost got to live in. Wolf House burned down mysteriously just a few days before the London's were to move in. It broke his heart and he died about three years later.

You can visit a museum "housed" in the home that his wife built a few years after his death, and look over his ranch. Or take the trail to the top of the mountain.

This is a state park and usually has a fee.
Directions:
Take Hwy 80 towards San Francisco. Pass Vacaville and Fairfield. Then shortly after Hwy 680 heads south, turn due West on Hwy 12 (about 60 miles from Rancho Cordova).

It can get a little tricky as at about 6.4 miles Hwy 12 joins with Hwy 29 (turn right). After about 4 miles, turn west (left) on Hwy 12 to Sonoma. After about 5 miles, turn right on Napa Rd and continue 4 miles into Sonoma where you will turn right on Broadway (Hwy 12). Turn left at the "T" in the center of town keeping on Hwy 12.

When Hwy 12 turns North, DON"T turn. Keep straight on Riverside and then turn left on Solano Ave. Now turn right on Arnold Dr. Drive about 5 miles and veer left on Warm Springs Rd. This road will veer left on Sonoma Mtn Rd into the Pk.
