CARSON FALLS
Round-trip mileage: 3.5 miles
Difficulty: 2 ( 1=Easy,2=Moderate,3=Strenuous )
Description:
Carson Falls drops over 5 tiers down a steep canyon ending in a 40 ft drop. This falls is just a trickle for most of the year. So check it out after a good rain. Late Winter to early Spring is the best time to go. I would call this hike easy except for the steepness both up and down for much of the hike and the scrambling needed to view all of the falls.
Directions:
From Hwy 1 in Marin County, take Sir Francis Drake Blvd west (signed for San Anselmo). Drive 6 miles to Fairfax. Turn left on Pacheco and immediately right on Broadway. Drive one block and turn left on Bolinas Rd. Drive 3.8 miles on Bolinas Rd to trailhead parking lot on left.
