| Much visited series of lakes with the first being about 3 miles from the trailhead off Hwy 80 at Big Bend. There are three Loch Leven Lakes (Lower, Middle, & Upper (or Higher)). | From Auburn, drive east on Hwy 80. Take the Big Bend turnoff (exit 166?) 1.5 miles east of the Cisco Grove turnoff. Turn left on Hampshire Rocks Rd. From Truckee, head west on Hwy 80. Take the Hampshire Rocks turnoff (exit 168?) about 4 miles west of the Soda Springs turnoff. Turn left under the bridge and turn right on Hampshire Rocks Rd. Parking is on the north side of the road across from the trailhead. |
