Still to be found is Umpa Lake NW of Twin Lakes. I hope to scope it out in the near future.
From trailhead hike 1.1 miles to a split. Go right 1.7 miles to Grouse Lake, Hemlock Lake, and Smith Lake or Go straight to 1.4 miles to Twin Lakes, then another .6 to Island Lake
Teh big mtn to the East is Mt Price at 9975.

From Placerville, drive east 36 miles on Hwy 50 and make a left turn on Wright's Lake Rd. From Lake Tahoe, drive west on Hwy 50 to Echo Summit. Continue 8 miles and turn right on Wright's Lake Rd.
Wilderness permits are needed to hike in this area. Day users can usually get them at the Wright's Lake trailheads. Overnighters must get them elsewhere.
When you reach Wright's Lake, turn right and drive around the lake to the parking area at the back of the Lake. There is a bathroom at the parking lot.
